My powercord only lasted a week and then stopped working for no reason. I hardly used my power cord and it worked just fine one day and the next it completely stopped working. My husband bought the same charger a month before me and the box got so hot it literally melted. We eneded up spending $50 on new power cords from a commercial store. I don't recommend this product myself.

I love this computer, but did not know that it didn't come with a DVD player. That is the only bad thing, other than that I would recommend college students to get this type over any other kind because it is lite weight and you can put it in anything to carry it. This is a good computer, but once again it does not have DVD player and if you are the type of person that uses one a lot then this computer is not for you, unless you want to buy the hook-up that they have that contains a DVD player.

I have been using this laptop for about 3 weeks, and it functions quite nicely. It's lightweight and easy to carry around. It also loads quickly. The only problems I have with this computer is that it overheats easily and the battery life is more like 3-4 hours than 5 hours. Also, at first I thought that the lack of a CD/DVD drive quite inconvenient, but since I don't really need to use one, it's ok. Oh, and the sound quality is pretty bad.

I'd say that you can get better laptops than this for the price, but I chose this one because the size was convenient.

DONT EVER BUY HP OR THEIR SERVICE PLANS.

I recently purchased a HP DM3-1130US. With 330 days still on the warranty, the PC wont enter hibernation or shut off. You have to hold down the power button to manually turn it off.

Today I spent 3 hours with HP technical support.

First tech, Chris, had me run CHKDSK, which took 2 hours. Of course that didn't work and I had to call back. The second tech, Mohammad, took control of my desk top and upgraded BIOS. Of course that didn't work and I told him that had little chance of working.

The third one, Pravin, promised to link me to the supervisor if I give him the model number and serial number, after I gave him the case number. He broke his promise.

DONT EVER BUY HP OR THEIR SERVICE PLANS. Imagine paying more for such service.

I was a bit leery when I ordered this product. This is the 3rd time I have had to replace the power cord to my HP Pavillion dv6000 and the first time it hasn't been under warranty so I have actually had to pay for it. This product was an almost exact duplicate of the original cord that came with the computer, unlike the 2 generic replacements sent to me through the warranty program of the box store I purchased the computer through. It was very inexpensive, 10 times less than comparable products elsewhere. It also arrived quicker than I could have hoped for, within 3 business days. My only complaint is that the cord length seems a bit short, but I can't be 100% sure. All in all this is a great product purchased from a great Amazon dealer.

I've owned this adapter for almost 2 months. When I use this adapter to charge my sleeping or powered down laptop there are no problems. But when I power my running laptop, the adapter becomes very hot - too hot to touch. The printed label on the brick has become warped and discolored from the heat. I also noticed that the plastic case around the brick has started to deform. Do yourself a favor and buy the genuine part instead.

I am not a huge fan of HP Quality, but this replacement cord was complete garbage compared to the HP cord it replaced. I could tell it was poorly constructed as soon as I took it out of the package. I have only had it for about five months. After two or three months there was clearly a short in the adapter plug. I had to twist it around to ensure that it was charging the battery. And today the adapter plug broke right off of the cord. This is standard daily use. I have done nothing above and beyond normal wear and tear. Yes the cord is cheap, but spend a few more and get one that will last.
